Meta\u2019s Head of AR Glasses Hardware, Caitlin Kalinowski is helping to lead that charge. Kalinowski hails from Portsmouth, NH and studied mechanical engineering at Stanford University. She is a veteran of Meta\u2019s VR team and led product design and integration of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tech.facebook.com\/reality-labs\/2021\/3\/five-years-of-vr-an-oral-history-from-oculus-rift-to-quest-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Meta Quest.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/tech.facebook.com\/ideas\/2023\/2\/meta-ar-future-wearable-tech-caitlin-kalinowski\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kalinoswki spoke recently with Tech@<\/a> about the differences between VR and AR and how in her current role she is developing hardware that needs to be smaller, lighter, and similar or equally powerful to the VR headsets she helped develop earlier in her career.\u00a0 Kalinoswki also explores\u00a0 how diversity \u2013 of skills, of temperaments, of sensibilities, of ethnicity, of gender, and sexuality<\/span> <span>\u2013 is critical for innovation.
